How to remove yourself from BeenVerified
A plain-English walk-through of opting out of BeenVerified (beenverified.com): what to expect, the free steps in order, how long it can take and why you should check again later.

What BeenVerified shows about you
BeenVerified sells background reports and publishes a free people-search teaser. Its opt-out works through a search of its own database: you find your record, choose it and confirm by email.
A listing there can include your name, age, current and past addresses, phone numbers, email addresses and relatives, with fuller background report details behind a paid report. The exact fields vary from person to person, and the free view usually shows less than a paid one.
How we checked this guide
BeenVerified's opt-out page is behind a bot check that blocked our automated tools. We confirmed that its old address redirects to its current opt-out search, and we took the steps from BeenVerified's support article and several independent guides that agree. Last checked October 30, 2026.
How to remove yourself from BeenVerified for free
The free route is the one to try first. Here are the steps, in order. The official address is beenverified.com/app/optout/search.
- Go to beenverified.com/app/optout/search, which redirects to BeenVerified's current opt-out search.
- Search for yourself by name, and city or state if the form asks. If you see no result after refining the search, your information may not be in the database, or you may be searching with the wrong details.
- Find your record and choose the button to proceed to opt out. BeenVerified says it will then send you a verification email.
- Enter your email address when asked. Use a dedicated address. Guides report the email arrives within a few minutes.
- Open the email and click the verification link. A second message confirming the request may follow.
- Repeat for any other record that is you. Search again after a few days to see whether it worked.
Use a dedicated email address for this and not your main one, and do not send a copy of your ID unless you have confirmed you are on the real site and there is no other way. Keep a spreadsheet with the date and the listing address for each request.
How long does BeenVerified removal take?
BeenVerified does not give a processing time on the page we could reach. Independent guides describe the confirmation email arriving within minutes and the record disappearing from search within days. Treat that as typical, not guaranteed, and check again after a week.
Things to know before you start
- BeenVerified opt-outs are record by record. If more than one record is you, you need to opt each one out.
- The verification email is the step people most often miss. Check your spam folder, and request a new link if the first one lapses.
- A guide from a competing removal service says to contact BeenVerified's privacy team if you find several records and the form will not handle them. We could not verify that, so treat it as a fallback you can try, not a documented step.
Will your BeenVerified listing come back?
It can. People-search sites build listings from public records and purchased data, and they refresh that data. If your information shows up in a new batch, a listing you removed can be created again. We are not aware of a reliable published figure for how often that happens, so be suspicious of anyone who quotes one.
A sensible routine is to search for yourself a few weeks after your request, then every few months. If you move, change your phone number or buy a home, expect new records. The same record also sits on many other sites, so clearing BeenVerified does not clear the rest. Our guide to removing personal information from the internet covers the other sites, Google results and the legal tools that exist where you live.
If you would rather not do it yourself
Doing this by hand across many sites, then repeating it, is tedious. Data-removal services sell that repetition as a subscription. One of them is DeleteMe, the service we link, and we earn a commission if you sign up through the links marked Affiliate link. We have not tested DeleteMe, and the details below come from DeleteMe's own pages as we read them on October 30, 2026.
BeenVerified is one of the most visited people-search sites, so it is a likely target for a removal service, but we could not confirm from DeleteMe's pages exactly which sites each plan covers. Check DeleteMe's current list before you buy.
- What it says it does: you give it your details, and according to its site its team searches hundreds of data brokers and people-search sites, submits opt-out and removal requests and keeps monitoring and removing your information regularly, all year long.
- Price: DeleteMe's help center describes the solo plan as about $11 a month, billed annually at $129, for one person for one year. Plans renew automatically unless you cancel, and prices change, so check the live page.
- Our link's discount: the page our US link opens advertises 20% off all privacy protection plans with the code PARTNER20, valid for new members only on USA consumer plans. See the current DeleteMe offer (Affiliate link).
Removal services reduce how easy you are to find. They do not make you anonymous and they do not promise that a listing will never return. If you decide to look at it, see the DeleteMe plans (Affiliate link). If you prefer not to pay, the free steps above are enough to do the job for BeenVerified.

Frequently asked questions
How do I remove myself from BeenVerified?
Use the opt-out search, find your record, choose to proceed to opt out, enter your email and click the verification link BeenVerified sends. Repeat for each record that is you.
Do I need an account to opt out of BeenVerified?
Its own support article describes searching the database, selecting the record to opt out and receiving a verification email, with no account mentioned. Follow the on-screen prompts if the current form differs.
Can my BeenVerified record come back?
Yes. People-search sites refresh their data from public records and purchased lists, so a removed record can be re-created. Search for yourself again every few months.
Is it worth paying someone to remove me from BeenVerified?
It depends on your time and how many sites you want to cover. The free opt-out above works without paying. A service such as DeleteMe, which earns us a commission if you sign up through our link, automates the repetition across many sites, but we have not tested it.
