How to remove yourself from PeopleLooker
A plain-English walk-through of opting out of PeopleLooker (peoplelooker.com): what to expect, the free steps in order, how long it can take and why you should check again later.

What PeopleLooker shows about you
PeopleLooker is a people-search and background-report site. According to independent guides, its opt-out does not have a form of its own: the footer link takes you to BeenVerified's opt-out tool, because the two sites are linked.
A listing there can include your name, age, addresses, phone numbers and relatives, with background report detail behind a paid report, as is typical for sites of this kind. The exact fields vary from person to person, and the free view usually shows less than a paid one.
How we checked this guide
PeopleLooker's own pages did not give us anything readable, and we could not open its opt-out page. The steps come from independent guides, which say PeopleLooker sends opt-out requests through BeenVerified and describe a BeenVerified pop-up and search. We have not confirmed ownership from a company announcement. BeenVerified may change the form, so follow the on-screen prompts. Last checked October 31, 2026.
How to remove yourself from PeopleLooker for free
The free route is the one to try first. Here are the steps, in order. The official address is peoplelooker.com (Do Not Sell My Personal Information link in the footer).
- Go to peoplelooker.com, scroll to the bottom and click Do Not Sell My Personal Information.
- Guides describe a BeenVerified pop-up. Choose Do Not Sell My Info. You may be taken to a BeenVerified address, which one guide says not to be alarmed by.
- On the page that opens, enter your first and last name and your state and search.
- Select the profile that is you. You can filter the list by age range, middle or maiden name or location.
- Enter a dedicated email address, tick the captcha and click Send Verification Email.
- Open the email and click the verification link. Repeat for any other profile that is you, then search again after a day or two.
Use a dedicated email address for this and not your main one, and do not send a copy of your ID unless you have confirmed you are on the real site and there is no other way. Keep a spreadsheet with the date and the listing address for each request.
How long does PeopleLooker removal take?
We could not find a time that PeopleLooker publishes. One independent guide says processing takes roughly 24 hours. Treat it as that guide's estimate.
Things to know before you start
- Because the request runs through BeenVerified's tool, doing the BeenVerified opt-out may overlap with this one. Check both sites afterwards rather than assuming.
- As with BeenVerified, the verification email is the step people most often miss. Check spam.
- The same guide says that if your data still shows, you can contact BeenVerified's privacy team at privacy@beenverified.com.
Will your PeopleLooker listing come back?
It can. People-search sites build listings from public records and purchased data, and they refresh that data. If your information shows up in a new batch, a listing you removed can be created again. We are not aware of a reliable published figure for how often that happens, so be suspicious of anyone who quotes one.
A sensible routine is to search for yourself a few weeks after your request, then every few months. If you move, change your phone number or buy a home, expect new records. The same record also sits on many other sites, so clearing PeopleLooker does not clear the rest. Our guide to removing personal information from the internet covers the other sites, Google results and the legal tools that exist where you live.
If you would rather not do it yourself
Doing this by hand across many sites, then repeating it, is tedious. Data-removal services sell that repetition as a subscription. One of them is DeleteMe, the service we link, and we earn a commission if you sign up through the links marked Affiliate link. We have not tested DeleteMe, and the details below come from DeleteMe's own pages as we read them on October 30, 2026.
We could not confirm from DeleteMe's pages whether it covers this site: the part of DeleteMe's list of covered sites that we could see did not include it, and we could not open the full list. Check DeleteMe's current list before you buy.
- What it says it does: you give it your details, and according to its site its team searches hundreds of data brokers and people-search sites, submits opt-out and removal requests and keeps monitoring and removing your information regularly, all year long.
- Price: DeleteMe's help center describes the solo plan as about $11 a month, billed annually at $129, for one person for one year. Plans renew automatically unless you cancel, and prices change, so check the live page.
- Our link's discount: the page our US link opens advertises 20% off all privacy protection plans with the code PARTNER20, valid for new members only on USA consumer plans. See the current DeleteMe offer (Affiliate link).
Removal services reduce how easy you are to find. They do not make you anonymous and they do not promise that a listing will never return. If you decide to look at it, see the DeleteMe plans (Affiliate link). If you prefer not to pay, the free steps above are enough to do the job for PeopleLooker.

Frequently asked questions
How do I remove myself from PeopleLooker?
Click Do Not Sell My Personal Information in the PeopleLooker footer. Independent guides say this leads to BeenVerified's opt-out search, where you find your profile, enter an email and click the verification link.
Is PeopleLooker the same as BeenVerified?
Independent guides say PeopleLooker handles opt-outs through BeenVerified and that BeenVerified owns it. We could not confirm that from a company page, so check both sites after you opt out.
How long does PeopleLooker take to remove a profile?
We found no time published by PeopleLooker. One guide says roughly 24 hours. Search again after a day or two, and again after a week.
Is it worth paying someone to remove me from PeopleLooker?
It depends on your time and how many sites you want to cover. The free opt-out above works without paying. A service such as DeleteMe, which earns us a commission if you sign up through our link, automates the repetition across many sites, but we have not tested it.
