What ThatsThem shows about you
ThatsThem is a free people-search site. A search by name, address, phone number or email returns listings, and its opt-out is a web form linked from the site footer as Optout.
A listing there can include your name, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses and, according to independent guides, IP addresses linked to a person. The exact fields vary from person to person, and the free view usually shows less than a paid one.
How we checked this guide
ThatsThem blocked our automated tools, so we could not open the opt-out page. The address and the 72-hour estimate come from how the page itself appears in search results, and the steps come from independent guides that agree with each other. Follow the on-screen prompts where the current form differs. Last checked October 31, 2026.
How to remove yourself from ThatsThem for free
The free route is the one to try first. Here are the steps, in order. The official address is thatsthem.com/optout.
- Search for yourself on thatsthem.com with your name and city, state or ZIP, and find the listing that is you. Guides say you do not have to submit the listing address, but recommend finding it first so you can copy the details exactly.
- Note the details shown on the listing, such as name, address, phone number and email, that you want removed.
- Click the Optout link in the site footer, or go to thatsthem.com/optout.
- Paste or type the details from your listing into the matching fields on the form, and complete the captcha.
- Submit the form. Guides say a confirmation email follows, so use an email address you can check.
- Search again in a few days. If a listing or an extra phone number or address remains, submit the form again for it.
Use a dedicated email address for this and not your main one, and do not send a copy of your ID unless you have confirmed you are on the real site and there is no other way. Keep a spreadsheet with the date and the listing address for each request.
How long does ThatsThem removal take?
The ThatsThem opt-out page, as shown in search results, says requests are typically processed within 72 hours and that you receive a confirmation email once complete. We could not load the page to read that wording in full.
Things to know before you start
- Guides say the form works from the details you enter, so if you leave something out it may stay online. Enter each phone number, address and email you see on the listing.
- ThatsThem can list details such as phone numbers and emails separately from your name, so search by phone and email too after you opt out.
- Opting out removes the data from ThatsThem's public results only. It does not touch other people-search sites.
Will your ThatsThem listing come back?
It can. People-search sites build listings from public records and purchased data, and they refresh that data. If your information shows up in a new batch, a listing you removed can be created again. We are not aware of a reliable published figure for how often that happens, so be suspicious of anyone who quotes one.
A sensible routine is to search for yourself a few weeks after your request, then every few months. If you move, change your phone number or buy a home, expect new records. The same record also sits on many other sites, so clearing ThatsThem does not clear the rest. Our guide to removing personal information from the internet covers the other sites, Google results and the legal tools that exist where you live.
If you would rather not do it yourself
Doing this by hand across many sites, then repeating it, is tedious. Data-removal services sell that repetition as a subscription. One of them is DeleteMe, the service we link, and we earn a commission if you sign up through the links marked Affiliate link. We have not tested DeleteMe, and the details below come from DeleteMe's own pages as we read them on October 30, 2026.
DeleteMe's help article listing the sites it removes from on its Standard US plan includes thatsthem.com, as we saw in a search result for that page. We could not open the full article, and coverage can change, so check DeleteMe's current list before you buy.
- What it says it does: you give it your details, and according to its site its team searches hundreds of data brokers and people-search sites, submits opt-out and removal requests and keeps monitoring and removing your information regularly, all year long.
- Price: DeleteMe's help center describes the solo plan as about $11 a month, billed annually at $129, for one person for one year. Plans renew automatically unless you cancel, and prices change, so check the live page.
- Our link's discount: the page our US link opens advertises 20% off all privacy protection plans with the code PARTNER20, valid for new members only on USA consumer plans. See the current DeleteMe offer (Affiliate link).
Removal services reduce how easy you are to find. They do not make you anonymous and they do not promise that a listing will never return. If you decide to look at it, see the DeleteMe plans (Affiliate link). If you prefer not to pay, the free steps above are enough to do the job for ThatsThem.

Frequently asked questions
How do I opt out of ThatsThem?
Use the free Optout form linked in the footer, thatsthem.com/optout. Enter the details shown on your listing, complete the captcha and submit it.
How long does a ThatsThem opt-out take?
The opt-out page, as shown in search results, says requests are typically processed within 72 hours. Check again after that and resubmit if the listing is still live.
Does ThatsThem show my IP address?
Independent guides say it can list IP addresses linked to a person. We could not confirm that on the site, so check your own listing. You can see what IP address you are using now with our what is my IP tool.
Is it worth paying someone to remove me from ThatsThem?
It depends on your time and how many sites you want to cover. The free opt-out above works without paying. A service such as DeleteMe, which earns us a commission if you sign up through our link, automates the repetition across many sites, but we have not tested it.
